Abstract(s)
This final internship report focuses on the topic of motivation and involvement within an educational context. It is part of my Master’s Degree in Pre-School and Primary School Education and has been divided into two parts, as follows: the first part is centred on the aspects and routes taken within the various internship contexts. The second part describes the research undertaken, with a view to better understanding the need for motivation and involvement during classroom activities; it identifies the role of teachers as regards the strategies that promote motivation and involvement in primary school children and, finally, it characterises the conceptions made by primary school children in respect of which strategies promote motivation and involvement. To this effect, we put together a qualitative study, having interviewed 2 teachers and 35 primary school children, having then prepared an analysis based on those replies. The conclusions reached, from a teacher perspective were that the children need to have some type of stimulation to feel motivated towards learning. On the other hand, from the student replies, it was clear that the children enjoy school and are self-motivated to participate in the classroom activities.
