O controle interno é apresentado como uma ferramenta gerencial para auxiliar os
gestores na condução dos processos da escola, a fim de alcançar resultados
satisfatórios. Assim, este trabalho teve como objetivo geral analisar a aplicação do
controle interno em uma instituição federal de ensino e verificar a sua adequação. Para
isso, foi proposto conhecer a percepção dos gestores, técnicos e docentes atuantes das
Pró-reitorias ligadas ao macroprocesso de ensino, pesquisa e extensão, bem como
identificar os procedimentos de controle utilizados nessas áreas. O estudo de caso usa
a pesquisa quantitativa e qualitativa. Os dados foram coletados a partir de questionários
e de pesquisa documental, e demonstraram que, embora haja uma compreensão da
essencialidade dos controles internos por parte dos respondentes para o alcance dos
objetivos, há ainda questões a serem melhoradas. Assim, é proposto um projeto de
intervenção com sugestões de melhoria para a consolidação eficiente dessa ferramenta
na instituição.
