Abstract(s)
Competências Psicológicas no Desporto .
O terceiro estudo consistiu no
cruzamento e complementaridade dos resultados obtidos no Estudo I e no Estudo II.
No grupo
conseguem descriminar e especificar as competências psicológicas. No estudo III,
Controlo de Ansiedade (Sub 14), Concentração e Preparação Mental (Sub 16);

The major goal of this research, divided in three different studies, is concerned to the analysis and comparison of psychological skills between two different groups of football players, defined as elite and non-elite (first study) using Psychological Skills Inventory for Sport. On the second study, the objective was to analyse football coaches’ opinions of teams of both groups related to sports excellence players’ quality indicators using a semi-oriented interview. The third study is about the interrelations, connections and complementarities of the results provided on study one and study two. Participated on this research a total of 177 football players, with ages between 13 and 17 years old (M = 14,95), divide by two groups, elite (N = 92) and non-elite (N = 85). Participated as well, the first team coaches (eight in total) of considered teams in both groups, with ages between 26 and 40 years old (M= 32,63). Results have made known significant differences between both groups of players on all psychological skills examined. On elite group was made relevant motivation and team emphasis. On study two, was exposed that elite football coaches can better discriminate and specify psychological skills in opposition to non-elite coaches. On study three connections were made linking coaches’ records and psychological skills revealed by players, mainly related to motivation and anxiety control (under-14), concentration and mental preparation (under-16), and concentration and self-confidence (under-17). For last, the results of the three studies were discussed on research and psychological evaluation levels on sports environments.
