Abstract(s)
Understanding autism and what strategies, technologies and digital educational resources are available to teachers that have students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) was the basis for the development of this work, focusing on the main objective of developing a conceptual model for a digital technology to support the creation of adapted documentation (TDACDA) that can efficiently respond to their identified problems. A survey was used as the methodological approach, considering specific objectives: to characterise people with ASD; to analyse practices and strategies used in the teaching and learning processes for students with ASD; to analyse technological means in teaching and supporting these students; to examine existing methods and techniques in simplifying documentation and the support technologies available to meet the needs of students with ASD. The research involved collecting data by reviewing the literature and applying questionnaire instruments to teachers and an interview with a student. The results show teachers' perceptions in the characterisation of students with ASD, the strategies and techniques used in teaching these students, their opinions on the importance of appropriately using digital tools and technologies and also identify the characteristics or functionalities of a desired TDACDA.
