Obesity is a chronic disease and a risk factor in the development of other pathologies. It is the second most preventable cause of death, largely impacting people's quality of life. Through the promotion of healthy habits, nurses can enable individuals to adopt healthy behaviours. A Scoping Review was carried with this question: what are the nursing interventions that promote health to adults with obesity? The evidence identified the crucial importance of such nursing interventions. A Situation Diagnosis was carried out based on the Health Planning Methodology using Betty Neuman's theoretical-conceptual perspective. The intervention described in this report was planned and named “The Zero Obesity Project”, the objective of which is to promote the adoption of healthy behaviors in adults with obesity in the county. The results point to an improvement of eating and exercise habits, demonstrating in some areas the positive impact of the project.
- Did.Value: a Project Focused on Developing A Holistic Model For Inclusion of Disadvantaged Communities internships and JobsPublication . Barbas, Maria Potes; Matos, PedroAs society keeps expanding and growing as a whole, tackling new challenges and disrupt alternatives in order to generate new jobs, educational offers, technological services, health and lifestyle opportunities and other aspects that constitute this large community, it is important to guarantee proper solutions and answers to the needs of those who are at a more disadvantaged background. In this case, we talk about people with disabilities or other communities who suffer from exclusion or face low opportunities scenarios. It is important to ensure that these groups can be included in society and be part of its several systems (employment, education, social affairs, equity, access to technologies, among other aspects). Therefore, The DID. VALUE project is a European action, combining the strengths and experience of three main partner countries (Portugal, Croatia, Cyprus) and other associated partners, that seeks to define and implement a holistic model that facilitates, through disruptive methodologies, innovative integration methods and learning mechanisms adapted to the needs of young people with disabilities and other disadvantaged communities, the social and professional inclusion of these target groups towards internships and jobs. In this sense, this work will describe the processes and strategies that led this comprehensive and integrated model to a deeper understanding of how these target groups can be included in society and on its several layers of composition. This way, generating new knowledge and good practices on which methods and resources can be used as key guidelines to solve these problems in a systemic way.

PUs are considered a public health problem in Portugal and are an indicator of the quality of healthcare provided. Is estimated that 95% of PU are preventable; therefore, priority intervention in several dimensions is necessary. After consulting Cartaxo team indicators, there is a need for intervention in this area. In this sense, a Scoping Review was developed, with the question: What are the nursing intervention strategies to prevent PU in ECCI users? Based on the Health Planning methodology, translating into the community intervention applying the specific skills of the EEECSP, whose general objective was “Preventing the Incidence of Pressure Ulcers in ECCI do Cartaxo Users”. After the implementation of this project, it appears that the process indicators have been reached and exceeded. The result indicators had a very positive evolution, but they need more time to achieve the goals.
- The Physical Activity Enjoyment Scale (Paces) as a Two-Dimensional Scale: Exploratory and Invariance AnalysisPublication . Rodrigues, Filipe; Forte, Pedro; Teixeira, Diogo Santos; Cid, Luis; Monteiro, DiogoThe current study aims to examine the Physical Activity Enjoyment Scale (PACES) as a two-dimensional scale assessing two correlated but distinct dimensions of enjoyment. In total, 277 individuals (female = 108) aged between 18 and 53 years (M = 35.66; SD = 7.42) participated in the study. The unidimensional model solution displayed good fit. However, the exploratory structural equation modelling specification considering two correlated but distinct dimensions of enjoyment showed a better fit. This study was the first attempt to examine the possible existence of two dimensions within the eight-item PACES measure. The distinct aspect of the current research is to emphasize the complex and constant process of instrument validation. Scales should be viewed as a continuous process, and future methodological procedures will increase our understanding of instrument examination with more innovative statistical approaches.
A metodologia utilizada pretendeu identificar estes fatores.
- Effects of match location, match result and the quality of opposition in training load on a two-matches week in a top-class elite European soccer teamPublication . Oliveira, Rafael; Brito, João; Loureiro, Nuno; Padinha, Vitor; Ferreira, Bruno; Mendes, BrunoThe aim of this study is to analyse effects of match location, match result and level of opponents in training load on the two following days of the match (MD+1; MD+2) in a top-class elite soccer European team. Nine players participated in this study. Total distance covered, distances of different exercise training zones (1–5) and average speed (AvS) were analysed. The session rating of perceived exertion (s-RPE) and Hooper Index scores (fatigue, stress, sleep quality, delayed onset muscle soreness-DOMS) were also analysed. Data was analysedregarding the two following days of a match. All weeks analysed included two matches. The results showed lower values of DOMS, effect size (ES)= 1.69, and fatigue ES=1.25, on the day following an away-win match than a home-defeat match against a bottom level opponent (all, p<0.05). It was also observed higher values of sleep quality ES=1.44, zone 1, ES=-4.35, and AvS, ES=-12.65, but lower values of s-RPE, ES=3.52, on the day following away-win match against a national top-level opponent (TLO). Finally, higher values for zone 3, ES=1.71, and lower value for AvS, ES=-6.06 were observed on the day following away-win match than a home-defeat match against champions league opponent number 1 (all, p<0.05). Total distance, AvS and zone 4 were higher after playing national opponents and/or champions league opponents in MD+1 than MD+2. The pattern of training load seems to be affected by situational variables. In general, the higher the quality of the opponents, the higher Hooper index in MD+1. S-RPE seems to be higher after playing a bottom level opponent when compared with the other opponents. Also, after playing national opponents, total distance, zones 1 and 4 were higher than against international opponents.
- Phase angle cutoff value as a marker of the health status and functional capacity in breast cancer survivorsPublication . Martins, Alexandre; Oliveira, Rafael; Brito, João; Costa, Tiago; Ramalho, Fatima; Pimenta, Nuno; Santos-Rocha, RAAccurate predictive tools are key factors for cancer care. Phase angle (PhA) has been proposed as a marker of cellular health, particularly of cell-membrane integrity. Cutoff values have been proposed, including for cancer survivors. This study aimed to assess the usefulness of the proposed PhA cutoff, as a marker of bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) assessed health-status, and functional capacity in breast cancer (BC) survivors. This cross-sectional study included 25 women (50.6 ± 8.6 yrs) survivors of BC, divided into two groups according to the PhA reference value of 5.6◦ (group 1 [G1]: PhA ≤ 5.6◦ [n=13]; group 2 [G2]: PhA > 5.6◦ [n=12]) (Gupta et al. 2008). BIA-assessed health status parameters included: extracellular water (ECW), intracellular water (ICW), total body water (TBW), PhA, body mass, fat-free mass, muscle mass, body cell mass (BCM). Four functional tests were performed: 30 s chair-stand test, timed up and go test, ball throw test and 6-minute walking test. Results showed G2 had lower ECW/ICW ratio (p=0.001; ES=1.2), ECW/BCM ratio (p=0.001; ES=3.2) and ECW/TBW ratio (p=0.001; ES=4.8). There was no difference in functional capacity between groups. The results of the present study show that patients with higher PhA values have a higher ICW values and preservation in the ECW/ICW ratio, suggesting it’s a better cell membrane quality and integrity. Relation of both PhA and cell membrane integrity with functional capacity warrants further research.
