Abstract(s)
This final report appears within the scope of the Master's Degree in Pre-School Education and Teaching of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education (CEB), carried out at the Escola Superior de Educação de Santarém. This report crosses all the experiences lived in each internship and the entire course of learning and professional development, culminating in carrying out the investigative exercise. The first part is within the scope of supervised teaching practice (PES) referring to the 4 stages as well as reflections on them. It then addresses the investigative exercise, focusing on concepts about the self-esteem of children and teachers, the impact this has on learning and the role that educators/teachers have in this process. Data collection was done through semi-structured interviews, with two educators, two 1st cycle teachers and 14 students from 1st CEB. The literature review allowed me to clarify concepts such as: self-esteem and self-concept and allowed me to cross-reference information between the conceptions of the educators/teachers and students with those of the authors studied. The children's results pointed to the importance of knowing themselves. The teachers' results point to the perception that each person has of themselves, coming closer to what the children responded, highlighting the importance of trust. Children believe that their well-being influences the way they learn and educators also emphasize emotional factors, as well as the importance of transmitting security, in order to promote confidence in the learning process.
