| dc.description.abstract | Introdução A preservação da identidade do idoso institucionalizado decorre em muito da possibilidade de se mobilizarem os espaços que se constituíram como referências temporais e socio-afetivas de uma vida, sempre com uma carga cultural e histórica bastante significativa. Estudos apontam para a importância deste movimento, suportado pela inter-relação dinâmica entre histórias e memórias, possibilitando o reafirmar a sua existência e o reconhecimento de si mesmo. A recordação de conteúdos guardados na memória e a respetiva partilha com o grupo possibilita a manutenção da memória coletiva. É neste enquadramento que emerge este estudo, integrado no projeto Voluntariado virtual potenciando a qualidade de vida das pessoas institucionalizadas. Objetivos Utilizar a imagem digital como estímulo da memória do idoso, mobilizando elementos portadores da sua identidade. Metodologia As sessões digitais iniciaram-se pela recolha de informação junto dos idosos que permitiu a caracterização dos locais significativos para si, com recurso à entrevista. Seguidamente ocorreu a partilha de elementos mais significativos dos diferentes locais, das características ambientais ou culturais, dos laços ainda existentes. Foram utilizadas técnicas de fotointerpretação, observação e análise das imagens, tendo como foco a identificação dos laços locais e da identidade da pessoa idosa. A atividade culminou com a partilha por um voluntário do “seu lugar especial”. Resultados Pretendeu-se estimular a memória de longo prazo, nomeadamente a memória declarativa, mais afetada com o envelhecimento e responsável pelo armazenamento e uso consciente de experiências. Remeteu-se a pessoa idosa para lembranças de eventos vinculados a um tempo ou lugar; promovendo as relações e o envolvimento entre todos os participantes. Comentários/Conclusões A partilha das histórias de vida e das memórias associadas a cada contexto, permitiram às pessoas idosas um reencontro com o seu património imaterial, perpetuando-o no tempo. A memória do idoso revela-se como o ponto central das informações da sua vida. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Introduction The preservation of the institutionalized elderly person's identity stems largely from the possibility of mobilizing the spaces that constituted themselves as temporal and socio-affective references of a lifetime, always with a very significant cultural and historical load. Studies point to the importance of this movement, supported by the dynamic interrelationship between stories and memories, making it possible to reaffirm its existence and self-recognition. Recalling content stored in memory and sharing it with the group makes it possible to maintain collective memory. It is in this framework that this study emerges, as part of the Virtual Volunteering project, enhancing the quality of life of institutionalized people. Goals Using the digital image as a stimulus for the memory of the elderly, mobilizing elements that carry their identity. Methodology The digital sessions began with the collection of information from the elderly, which allowed the characterization of significant places for them, using the interview. Then there was the sharing of the most significant elements of the different places, of the environmental or cultural characteristics, of the ties that still exist. Techniques of photointerpretation, observation and analysis of the images were used, with a focus on identifying local ties and the identity of the elderly person. The activity culminated in a volunteer sharing “his special place”. Results It was intended to stimulate long-term memory, namely declarative memory, more affected by aging and responsible for the storage and conscious use of experiences. The elderly person was referred to memories of events linked to a time or place; promoting relationships and involvement among all participants. Comments/Conclusions The sharing of life stories and memories associated with each context allowed elderly people to rediscover their intangible heritage, perpetuating it over time.
