Abstract(s)
This report integrates the training path undertaken within the framework of the Master's Degree in Maternal and Obstetric Health Nursing (EEESMO), documenting the development of specialized competencies and reflecting on practice across different internship contexts: postpartum, gynecology, pathological pregnancy, community, and delivery rooms. This journey enabled the author to integrate theoretical and practical knowledge, consolidating a holistic and personalized approach focused on meeting women's needs throughout the life cycle. The research aimed to understand how women experience sexuality following vaginal delivery with perineal trauma, a topic often overlooked but with significant implications for health and well-being. The methodology included a scoping review and a qualitative study with semistructured interviews conducted with women who had experienced perineal trauma. The findings revealed the profound impact of such injuries on sexual experiences, with reports of physical and emotional changes as well as the need for adaptive strategies. A lack of adequate information and professional support was also identified. The urgent need for EEESMO to play a more active role in promoting healthy sexuality, integrating this dimension into provided care, is highlighted. Despite being a central element of women's health, sexuality remains frequently neglected, demanding more inclusive interventions and practices that value this component. Thus, this report reinforces the relevance of a humanized, evidence-based approach, encouraging the promotion of discussions and scientific contributions that expand the role of EEESMO in the field of sexual health.
