Abstract(s)
A sociedade contemporânea é marcada por três macrotendências que a identificam como uma sociedade singular na história humana: um processo de mudança acelerada, uma desigualdade crescente e uma fibrilhação dos sistemas de Poder.
Tais tendências têm tido como efeitos um quadro de ameaças e oportunidades que, por um lado, têm constituído um gigantesco desafio aos sistemas educativos e, por outro, configuram a urgência de uma ressocialização de todas as gerações vivas no sentido da construção de uma cidadania global.
Neste contexto, propõe-se um modelo que configura uma estratégia de educação para a cidadania, com dois eixos, quatro vertentes e dez áreas-chave.
Seguidamente, descreve-se e discute-se a emergência quase explosiva dos Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) a partir de instituições de ensino superior internacionalmente reconhecidas, no quadro do novo paradigma digital, a sua diversidade e o seu potencial ainda em aberto.
Confrontando esta nova abordagem educativa com o modelo de educação para a cidadania proposto, conclui-se constituir um meio robusto para o potenciar.
Contemporary society is marked by three macro-trends that identify it as a unique society in human history: a process of accelerated change, increasing inequality, and the fibrillation of power systems. Such tendencies have had as effects a framework of threats and opportunities that have both constituted a gigantic challenge to the educational systems and configure the urgency of re-socialization of all the living generations towards the construction of a global citizenship. In this context, a model is proposed that constitutes a strategy of education for citizenship, with two axes, four strands and ten key areas. Next, the near-explosive emergence of the Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) is described and discussed from internationally recognized higher education institutions, within the framework of the new digital paradigm, its diversity and its potential still open. Confronting the new educational approach with the model of education for the proposed citizenship, it is concluded that it is a robust means to promote it.
