| dc.description.abstract | O trabalho apresenta as visĂ”es de jovens universitĂĄrios sobre as novas tecnologias, especialmente a Internet, e sua relação com o desenvolvimento de uma sociedade democrĂĄtica. Os dados da pesquisa foram coletados a partir de postagens em um fĂłrum virtual, com a participação de 38 jovens do curso de CiĂȘncia da Informação, na modalidade de ensino presencial, de uma instituição de educação superior privada do Distrito Federal do Brasil, no ano de 2008. A leitura das postagens nos permitiu constatar que para esses jovens as novas tecnologias, especialmente a Internet, sĂŁo uma realidade irreversĂvel na vida contemporĂąnea, nĂŁo obstante apresentarem aspectos contraditĂłrios para a construção de relaçÔes sociais justas e igualitĂĄrias em vista da democracia. Os dados mostram um posicionamento que vĂȘ na sociabilidade virtual e suas linguagens formas de interaçÔes passageiras, frĂĄgeis e descartĂĄveis e novas formas de exclusĂŁo e preconceitos, em suma, geralmente negativas; por outro lado, os dados patenteiam uma visĂŁo otimista, de possibilidade de personalização, ampliação dos contatos com o Outro, e o destaque Ă sua dimensĂŁo utilitĂĄria, prĂĄtica, ĂĄgil e de acesso direto. Tais visĂ”es tĂȘm notĂłrias implicaçÔes na vida social juvenil contemporĂąnea, com a criação de novas linguagens, sociabilidades e interesses, explicitando o fato de que, historicamente, o conhecimento e a tecnologia tĂȘm sido um trampolim para o acesso ao poder e ao seu exercĂcio, democrĂĄtico ou nĂŁo.- New languages and sociabilities: how youth perceive new technologies. This paper aims to analyze perspectives on new technologies and its relationship with the development of a democratic society posted in a virtual forum. The population was composed by 38 undergraduate students in Computer Sciences, enrolled in a private higher education institution, located in Brazilâs capital city. The results of messagesâ analysis show that these technologies are regarded as an irreversible part of reality, in particular the Web. They recognized their contradictory contributions to the construction of equalitarian and fair social relations, aiming democracy. The data reveal both positive and negative perceptions of the new technologiesâ roles. On the one hand, virtual sociability and their inherent languages multiply fragile and temporary social interactions. Furthermore, they are vehicles for new prejudices and additional forms of social exclusion. On the other hand, the results show the perceptions of new alternatives for becoming a person, in social networks, as well as the importance of easy and direct access to persons and groups. The points of view expressed by students have significant implications for juvenile social life and political participation. As it is well recognized, knowledge and technologies have been valuable means for accessing and exercising political power, either democratic or authoritarian. | por |
