Abstract(s)
desenvolvido no decorrer deste percurso.
A Parte I em
The present study was done under the Masters in 1st and 2nd cycles of basic education and was developed to provide a professional progressive path made during this period, as well as the study improved during this course. This final report is held in two parts. The first part reveals the most significant experiences of Supervised Teaching Practice in 1st and 2nd cycles of basic education in the subjects of History and Geography of Portugal, Portuguese Language and Natural Sciences and Mathematics. In the second part is presented the developed study about the teaching of Sciences and the promotion of critical thinking skills in students of 2nd cycle of basic education. This study was established in a 5th grade class. It was intended to verify whether the strategies and activities used were actually promoters for the development of critical thinking of students of 2nd cycle of basic education related to Natural Sciences lessons and to perceive the opinion of the class teacher involved in the study and their students on the used strategies and activities to promote the development of critical thinking. Through the results obtained from the implemented study it was corroborated that students were able to achieve some of the worked critical thinking skills holding true an evolution about the development of their thought abilities, showing thus have contributed to the of students' knowledge construction. Regarding the teacher’s opinion and students on the use of strategies and activities that promote critical thinking it was disclosed that the teacher finds essential that activities are promoted to allow reflection, discussion and debate so that students can build their own knowledge. Students consider that the implementation of practical activities in which they have opportunity to test and verify the abstract contents is the best way to learn.
