Abstract(s)
Ciclo do Ensino Básico.
inquiridas.
The current final report School Family Partnership: How to involve parents with educational practices at the Preschool and Elementary Teaching levels provides new evidence on the trajectory developed during the Master's Degree in Preschool and Elementary Teaching with a research whose claim is based on fieldwork. This project aims to provide an approach to school-family relations and relate them to pedagogical practices and strategies used by teachers so that families get engaged with schools. Considering the impact of parental involvement on the quality of learning and the strategies which could be tools to the enhancement of school-family relationship, the teacher gives a contribute to the approximation between the school and the family. Considering the research question, I started my report which is divided into two chapters. The first one refers to the levels of teaching during my internship, providing the features and context of my academic background both in Preschool and Elementary Teaching. In the second chapter, including the literature review and fieldwork, it aims to justify and give insights into the impacts of this relations on the development of children, educators and teachers themselves. However, it was equally important to deepen the obstacles to this interaction and the strategies to adopt as a response. Envisioning the better understanding and the justification of the evolution of this relation in our educational system and on official documents, I performed a research on this subject. Regarding the empirical work, it is based on a research developed during the internships and on one qualitative methodology which aims to show the reality by which teachers, parents and children live by. To carry out this research has been supported on data collection instruments, interviews, surveys and observation. The analysis of the collected data shows disparities concerning the answers of families and teachers on the each specialisation field. It has been possible to observe differences between the two levels of education, through testimonies provided by teachers and surveys to families and children.
