Abstract(s)
parâmetros fermentativos in vitro, características físicas e químicas da carne e no estado
his work aimed to investigate the effect of using the red alga Asparagopsis taxiformis (AT), as a source of bromoform (CHBr3), on average daily gain (ADG), conversion index (CI), intake, carcass quality, on the parameters in vitro fermentative processes, physical and chemical characteristics of meat and the health status of lambs. A 5-week trial was carried out with 18 lambs. The AT algae was immersed in sunflower oil, which was used as a CHBr3 transport vehicle. Three diets were used, where B0 constituted the control with 0 mg of CHBr3/ kg dry matter (DM), B50 50 mg of CHBr3/ kg and B100 100 mg of CHBr3/ kg. Animals fed diets with greater supplementation had lower intake. A CH4 reduction of 59% and 81% was observed in treatments B50 and B100. The use of CHBr3 may not be harmless to the health of animals.
