- Práticas investigativas na formação inicial de professores e educadoresPublication . Cardona, Maria João (coordenadora); Linhares, Elisabete (coordenadora)Pensar a Formação e Educação nas Primeiras Idades remete-nos à Coleção com o mesmo nome, da Escola Superior de Educação do Instituto Politécnico de Santarém, que já nos brindou com duas publicações: a primeira em 2020 e a segunda em 2022, ambas pondo a tónica na importância da investigação nos processos formativos. Honrando esse compromisso de raiz, este terceiro número é assim dedicado às práticas investigativas na formação inicial de professores e educadores, dando testemunho de trabalhos de pesquisa de mestrandos, devidamente acompanhados pelos respetivos orientadores, numa lógica de diálogo e parceria como importa no percurso de jovens investigadores. Mas, além do interesse que suscitam as temáticas de eleição das autoras e suas opções metodológicas, gostaria de realçar o papel fundamental que esta Coleção exerce, quando passa, mesmo que subliminarmente, a grande mensagem de que o professor/educador é um investigador. Ele não é apenas o técnico, ateórico e apolítico, que utiliza os melhores métodos e procedimentos com os seus alunos, executando com rigor determinações emanadas de outros patamares de decisão. Como verdadeiro profissional, ele deve investigar as suas práticas pedagógicas, num processo contínuo de reflexão-investigação ação.
- Sustainable development in Portuguese higher education institutions from the faculty perspectivePublication . Leal, Susana; Azeiteiro, Ulisses M.; Aleixo, Ana MartaHigher education institutions play a fundamental role and have great responsibility in promoting sustainability and achieving sustainable development goals. It is therefore essential to study the teacher's perceptions of incorporating sustainability since they are responsible for promoting competences and preparing citizens to respond with solutions to future challenges. The aim of this research is to analyse the perceptions of sustainability held by teachers at Portuguese public higher education institutions. A descriptive and exploratory study was conducted by administering an online questionnaire. The sample is made up of 444 teachers from different Portuguese public higher education institutions (54.1% women and 45.9% men). The results show that while most teachers believe higher education institutions promote the integration of sustainability in their activities, only 16% consider that sustainable development is holistically integrated in the institutions' different activities. About 30% of the teachers report that they largely or extensively integrate sustainable development in their curricular units, but only 20% of them state that higher education institutions provide regular or systematic training in SD. Teachers prefer to increase students' sustainable development education through conferences, seminars, or research projects. Almost 90% of teachers are concerned about climate change or the environment, but only 40% or less engage in sustainable development-related activities. Four clusters are also identified, representing teachers' different perceptions of the higher education institutions' promotion of sustainability, teachers' participation in sustainable development issues and concerns about climate change. Although teachers feel that sustainability is starting to be integrated in higher education institutions, this is not done holistically; moreover, differences are found between teachers in polytechnics and universities and between different scientific areas.
- Insights into grapevine defence response against fungal diseases towards a sustainable plant breedingPublication . Patanita, Mariana; Félix, M.R.; A. Ribeiro, Joana; Varanda, Carla; Albuquerque, André; Materatski, Patrick; Osa, Nicolás; Campos, Maria DoroteiaDowny mildew, powdery mildew, grey mould, black rot, and grapevine trunk diseases are among the most important fungal or oomycete diseases affecting grapevine, with a high economic impact in all growing areas. In recent decades, extensive efforts have been made to reduce the use of agrochemicals in viticulture, turning the management of these diseases a major challenge. Given the urgent need to identify and develop new sustainable and effective protection strategies, a better understanding of plant defence mechanisms is essential to develop more tolerant plants and provide valuable insights for disease management. Although recent advances in molecular technologies have allowed the identification of several resistance genes, little is known about the complexity of the molecular mechanisms involved in grapevine-pathogen interactions. This chapter aims to bring together the most up-to-date findings on the regulation of grapevine defence mechanisms against major fungal and oomycete diseases by enumerating promising candidate genes that offer broad possibilities for inducing resistance to specific pathogens. We also focus on the use of functional genomics as a tool to study grapevine immunity to different pathogens, with particular emphasis on new emerging molecular technologies that will undoubtedly contribute to a sustainable plant breeding.
- As funções e tarefas de um treinador de guarda-redes numa equipa sénior distrital: estudo sobre as ações ofensivas dos guarda-redes em competiçãoPublication . Bergmann, Arnoldo Luis; Loureiro, NunoO relatório se refere ao estágio realizado na equipa sénior do Sporting Clube Lourinhanense (SCL), na função de treinador de guarda-redes. O objetivo deste estágio foi de melhorar a intervenção como treinador de guarda-redes, relacionando os conteúdos teóricos com a reflexão da prática. As principais tarefas foram de planear, intervir e refletir sobre a intervenção com os guarda-redes e a sua integração com os restantes jogadores, dentro do modelo de jogo da equipa. O estágio contribuiu para a formação especializada e para aplicação do conhecimento científico no contexto profissional do desporto. O documento encontra-se estruturado em duas partes centrais: na primeira, engloba a caracterização da instituição, da equipa, contextos competitivos e elementos mais operacionais do treino e jogo; posteriormente, vem a parte do estudo, as ações ofensivas do guarda-redes em competição. O estudo realizado teve como objetivo mostrar a importância dos guarda-redes nas ações ofensivas na equipa de futebol através da observação e análise das ações ofensivas que os guarda-redes executaram em jogo na época desportiva de 2021/2022. Um dos principais resultados obtidos foi demonstrado através da percentagem de bolas corridas com a participação do GR, com 332 ações (73%). Constata-se, assim, a crescente importância dessas ações e participações diretas e ativas do GR no futebol contemporâneo, as quais este estudo sublinha.
- Epidemiology of tick-borne diseases - Lyme disease and nodular Scar Fever - epidemiological data from the years 2012 and 2021 in the Regional Health Administration of Lisbon and Tagus ValleyPublication . Rosa, Marta; Amaro, Sandra; Monterroso, LígiaDiseases transmitted by ticks constitute a problem within the scope of community health and public health. Over the years, national authorities have been making efforts to reduce these diseases, increasing the literacy of the Portuguese population regarding this problem. Diseases transmitted by these vectors have been appearing or reappearing in the national territory, because of different climatic, demographic, and social changes, associated with genetic changes in the vectors themselves. Therefore, we developed a literature review in several available computer sources and physical collections, supported by epidemiological and biostatistical data at national level (Portugal), in the years 2012-2021, focusing on the region of the Regional Administration of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, for convenience. of researchers. Therefore, we intend to alert and sensitize the academic and care provider community to the need to be aware and respond to specific norms and indications regarding the approach of users, implementing nursing interventions based on national strategies and guidelines, to raise awareness among the population, hoping that in the future the number of diseases transmitted by ticks would decrease.
- Comportamento de cidadania organizacional dos enfermeiros do hospital Raoul Follereau da Guiné-BissauPublication . Saho, Mamadu; Ferreira, ReginaO cenário contemporâneo na vida das organizações sanitárias, obriga aos líderes zelarem pelo bem-estar e desenvolvimento dos profissionais de saúde para obterem melhores resultados organizacionais. Resultados estes, que são obtidos pelas ações que compreendem e elevam o nível de bem-estar, motivação e satisfação dos colaboradores nos serviços de saúde. A elaboração deste trabalho de investigação, tem como objetivo compreender e descrever Comportamento de Cidadania Organizacional dos Enfermeiros do Hospital Raoul Follereau da Guiné-Bissau. Com vista a poder obter resultados válidos, é empregue o método do tipo quantitativo pela sua forma de abordagem descritiva analítico e utilizado um questionário como ferramenta de recolha de dados. Foi utilizada uma amostra de conveniência de 29 respondentes numa população de 41 Enfermeiros incluindo os Técnicos de Enfermagem. Os resultados foram satisfatórios, visto que a maioria das respostas dos participantes apontam pelos factos positivos dos casos estudados. Por fim, os achados sugerem a importância do relacionamento dos líderes e a equipa de Enfermagem, bem como flexibilidade, satisfação e motivação no trabalho destes profissionais de saúde na adoção dos Comportamentos de Cidadania Organizacional.
- Detraining and retraining effects from a multicomponent training program on the functional capacity and health profile of physically active prehypertensive older womenPublication . Monitoring the responses during this detraining (DT) and retraining (RT) may allow us to analyze how the body reacts to an increase and a reduction in physical inactivity. Therefore, we conducted a follow-up training, DT, and RT in prehypertensive older women to analyze the response to these periods. Methods: Twenty-three prehypertensive older women (EG; 68.3 ± 2.8 years; 1.61 ± 0.44 m) performed 36 weeks of the multicomponent training program (MTP) followed by twelve weeks of DT plus eight weeks of RT. Fifteen prehypertensive older women (CG; 66.3 ± 3.2 years; 1.59 ± 0.37 m) maintained their normal routine. Functional capacity (FC), lipid, and hemodynamic profile were assessed before, during 24 and 36 weeks of the MTP, after 4 and 12 weeks of DT, and after 8 weeks of RT. Results: After 24 weeks of the MTP, only SBP did not improve. Four weeks of DT did not affect lower body strength (30-CS), TC, or GL. Eight weeks of RT improved BP (SBP: −2.52%; ES: 0.36; p < 0.00; DBP: −1.45%; ES: 0.44; p < 0.02), handgrip strength (3.77%; ES: 0.51; p < 0.00), and 30-CS (3.17%; ES: 0.38; p < 0.04) compared with 36 weeks of the MTP. Conclusions: Eight weeks of RT allowed patients to recover the benefits lost with detraining, which after only four weeks affected them negatively, and the systematic practice of exercise contributed to greater regulation of BP since 24 weeks of the MTP proved not to be enough to promote positive effects of SBP.
