Abstract(s)
This report was prepared within the scope of the curricular unit of Research in Supervised Teaching Practice, integrated into the Master's Degree in Pre-School Education and Teaching of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education (CEB). Structured into two main parts, the report addresses, in the first section, a reflective analysis of the teaching practice developed in three different internship contexts: Nursery, Kindergarten and 1st CEB. In this part, brief characterizations of the institutions, the classes involved and the pedagogical practice carried out in each of them are presented. The second part of the report focuses on the investigative component, developed with Kindergarten and 1st CEB students, under the title: “Children's conceptions about food and the consequences for the body of the food they eat”. This section covers the theoretical framework, the applied methodology, the characterization of the participants, the data collection instruments and techniques, as well as the presentation and discussion of the results obtained. The conclusions of the study reveal that Kindergarten children find it easier to identify the foods they consume when they have less processed characteristics, while 1st CEB students demonstrate an understanding of the effects of food on the functioning of the body. Finally, a final reflection on the entire academic career is presented.
