Abstract(s)

When a family member needs care due to dependency, a close member often becomes an Informal Carer (IC), facing significant stress and impacts on physical and mental health due to the role played in the home environment. The IC plays a crucial role in promoting the well-being of dependent older people, but faces challenges that can lead to overload and exhaustion. This community nursing intervention project was developed to train the ICs of the Integrated Continued Care Team (ECCI) in a Community Care Unit (UCC) in CA. The aim is to provide them with knowledge about strategies for dealing with overload, with a view to improving their quality of life.
