Abstract(s)
promove a condição física e a saúde durante o período pós-parto (estudo 2); testar a
pós-parto.
The postpartum period is marked by profound changes in women at a physical, psychological and physiological level. Many of these changes persist after 4 to 6 weeks postpartum, and most women do not resume their levels of physical activity, which increases the risk of remaining inactive for many years. It is crucial to understand and implement effective strategies and programs that promote exercise during the postpartum period. moreover, there is scarcity of studies in this area. Physical activity during the postpartum period is a public health issue. In view of the reproducibility and successful implementation of physical exercise interventions, reporting the quality of such study designs must be assured. Considering this problem, the objectives of this study are: to analyze the physiological and psychological characteristics of the postpartum period, as well as the scientific evidence on the main recommendations, evaluation, prescription and characteristics of exercise programs adapted to the postpartum period ( study 1); to develop and validate a physical exercise program in postpartum recovery “ACTIVE MUMS”, which promotes physical condition and health during the postpartum period (study 2); to test the feasibility and analyze the effects of the specific exercise program in the postpartum period “ACTIVE MUMS”, in psychological, metabolic and musculoskeletal parameters. For study 1, the electronic databases Web of Science and PubMed were used, whose results confirmed the importance of exercise as an ally for postpartum recovery, making it necessary to create specific exercise programs for this phase. For the description of the exercise program, the Consensus on the Exercise Reporting TEMPLATE (CERT) was used. To validate the program, the Criteria for Reporting the Development and Evaluation of Complex Interventions in Healthcare (CReDECI2) were followed, going through the three stages of development, piloting and evaluation. A qualitative pilot study was carried out. The personalized exercise program was developed and validated based on evidence-based international recommendations, with the aim of being implemented by qualified exercise professionals. An intervention of 12 to 16 weeks of testing was performed, involving 11 postpartum women. The viability of the program was subsequently evaluated by all participants. The presented intervention can assist exercise specialists, health professionals and researchers in the planning, promotion and implementation of a specific exercise program for postpartum recovery. Eleven postpartum women participated in the study, in a supervised program lasting at least 12 weeks. To analyze the effects, the level of physical activity, quality of life, pelvic pain and low back pain, fatigue, depression and the level of physical fitness were evaluated. The women were evaluated before, during and after the exercise program. The results showed that the application of a specific exercise program for the postpartum period, with a minimum duration of 12 weeks, performed three times a week, produces positive effects on psychological, metabolic and musculoskeletal parameters.
