Abstract(s)
Os maus tratos que sofrem as famílias por parte de filhos menores de 18 anos, é um dos
delitos mais preocupantes no âmbito da violência familiar. A partir de estudos realizados
sobre esta questão, analisar-se-ão as características dessas famílias em variáveis como o
nível socioeconómico, a estrutura familiar e estilos educativos parentais, no sentido de
perceber se essas famílias apresentam os fatores de risco habituais em famílias cujos filhos exercem violência contra os seus progenitores.
The families who suffer ill-treatment from theirs children under the age of 18 years, it is one of the most disturbing crimes within family violence. On the basis of researches on this phenomenon, it is analysed the characteristics of families in variables such as: socioeconomic status, family structure and educational parental styles to know if they have risk factors that are presents in families whose children come into contact with legal offices for criminal common offences or, if on the contrary it is against standard families whose children exert violence against their parents. After reviewing the specialized literature, it seems as if being violent around childhood and adolescence is more linked to families with low socio-economic levels and overprotective or/and authoritarian educational parental styles, but and the correlation is negative with the phenomenon of violent children against parents. However, is true that single parenthood presents a significantly relevant relationship. All this conclusions that should be investigated since the concurrence of other risk factors, not only family, that may be influencing in the existence of battered parents.
