Abstract(s)
Foram analisadas as seguintes variáveis: (i) velocidade do equilíbrio máximo
frequência gestual à V4 (FG@V4), índice de nado à V4 (IN@V4) e eficiência propulsiva à V4 (ηp@V4),
A DC@V4, o IN@V4 e a ηp@V4 apresentaram-se estáveis,
seu IN@V4. As
The aim of this study was to analyze the changes in the elite swimmers’ bioenergetic and biomechanical profile between two “Pre-Taper” periods. Seven Portuguese male swimmers from high competitive level were used as subjects. The bioenergetic and the biomechanical parameters were assessed in two different time moments (T1 and T2) after an intense training phase and before important competitions (December and March of the 2009-2010 season). Were analyzed: (i) the velocity of the maximal lactate equilibrium estimated to the 4 mmol (V4) as bioenergetic indicator; (ii) the stroke cycle at V4 (DC@V4), the stroke rate at V4 (FG@V4), the stroke index at V4 (IN@V4) and the propelling efficiency at V4 (ηp@V4) as biomechanical parameters. The statistical analysis between the two moments was performed using the nonparametric statistical Wilcoxon test. Significant increases in V4 and FG@V4 were observed between T1 and T2. The DC@V4, IN@V4 and the ηp@V4 remain stable without significant variations. Regarding an intra-individual analysis, four swimmers increased their IN@V4 between the two evaluation moments. In conclusion, there was a tendency for increasing the V4 during the competitive season. Changes in elite swimmers’ V4 seems to be due to biomechanical variations, most precisely in the FG@V4.
