Abstract(s)
envelhecimento populacional; aumento da esperança média de vida; aumento do tempo livre;
elaboração do presente estudo.
sociedade.
The subject of this project work was related to the celebration of the Active Ageing European Year and the solidarity between generations, and its title was: “Grandparents and us: sharing experiences between generations using the multimedia resource”. The area of investigation chosen was the conception, development and evaluation of a project that used multimedia as an educative resource for the integration of older people in the society in order to avoid their info exclusion. According to Souza (2005), the use of the technologies in education is a good option because we can apply them in different contexts, creating situations of learning. So, we planned to develop a project that could involve different generations (parents, grandparents and grandchildren) and a part of the educative community of the School EB 2/3 of Vialonga, where the researcher teaches. The project was implemented in three classes (5thE, 6thB and 6thC) and the main goals were: to promote the inclusion of those students’ grandparents in school and in this “society of information” and, at the same time, to share the know-how of “old times” with their grandchildren. For that purpose it was done a computer workshop to a group of 12 elder people. This project aims to contribute in a meaningful way to solve some social problems that are felt nowadays: the ageing population, the increasing of life expectancy, the increasing of free time, digital literacy and info exclusion. In spite of all these important reasons, we think that the use of web 2.0 tools in the teaching / learning process can improve the pleasure of Learning and make all the process of relationship between generations more alive, interesting and useful. These factors provided the preparation of this study. The methods of data collection were the systematic observation and the questionnaires. These were made in the initial and final phases. The data obtained were analyzed quantitatively. The investigation revealed that age is not a limiting factor of the informatics and communication technologies learning by the elder people. The sharing between generations, using the Multimedia, helps the elderly to feel more independent, active and involved in our society.
