Abstract(s)

This research aims to know the perceptions of pre-school children and 1st CEB on the family tree and their kinship relations through drawing. The design is considered an important way of communicating the child (Lima & Carvalho, 2008, Passarinha, 2012). This importance attributed to the drawing is due to the fact that it represents a form of symbolic communication before reading and writing skills. When drawing, the child reflects and communicates his personality. The design can, in different situations, become the indication, in the "mirror" of the child's state of mind, because it translates what he feels, thinks, desires (Cecconello & Koller, 1999, Galinha, Mendonça, Bernardo & Teixeira, 2015).
