Abstract(s)
O presente Relatório Final “Educação Sexual em contexto escolar. Conceções e práticas dos professores do 2º Ciclo do Ensino Básico”, foi elaborado no âmbito do Mestrado em Ensino do 1º e 2º Ciclos do Ensino Básico.
Foca diversas experiências, trabalhos e atividades desenvolvidos nos estágios em 1.º e 2.º Ciclos do Ensino Básico, que contribuíram para a minha formação profissional. Além disso, contempla uma componente investigativa.
A questão-problema que aqui se coloca surgiu a partir do meu interesse pessoal em conhecer a forma como a temática da Educação Sexual é abordada nos estabelecimentos de ensino do 2.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico, bem como as conceções dos professores acerca do tema.
Este trabalho contempla um estudo de caso que visa uma melhor compreensão da forma como os professores de 2º Ciclo percecionam a Educação Sexual em contexto escolar, bem como a forma como abordam esse assunto nos respetivos estabelecimentos de ensino. Para tal, foram delineados três objetivos principais a atingir com a sua concretização: (1) conhecer as conceções de professores de 2º ciclo relativamente à Educação Sexual em meio escolar; (2) identificar e caracterizar atividades desenvolvidas no âmbito da Educação Sexual em meio escolar; (3) identificar o tipo de formação específica nesta área dos professores em estudo. Para tal, foram aplicados inquéritos por questionário a três professores de 2º Ciclo do Ensino Básico.
Após uma análise das respostas dadas pelos participantes, conclui-se que existem atitudes positivas por parte dos professores em relação à abordagem ao tema da Educação Sexual. No entanto, a sua abordagem em contexto escolar é ainda muito limitada em variados aspetos, nomeadamente na escassez de recursos e de tempo e no próprio à vontade dos docentes para o fazerem. Ainda, todos os professores consideraram possuir formação suficiente para a abordagem deste tópico e as atividades que mais implementam nesse sentido são os debates.
This Final Report “Sexual Education in a school context. Conceptions and practices of teachers of the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education”, emerged from the Masters in Teaching of the 1st and 2nd Cycles of Basic Education. It focuses on various experiences, works and activities developed in the 1st and 2nd Cycles of Basic Education, which contributed to my professional training. In addition, it includes a research component. The problem issue arises from my personal interest in knowing the way this subject is approached in the establishments of education of the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education as well as the conceptions of the teachers on the subject. This paper considers a case study that aims at a better understanding of the way in which 2nd cycle teachers perceive sexual education in a school context, as well as the way they approach this subject in their respective educational establishments. To achieve this, three main objectives have been outlined: (1) to know the concepts of 2nd cycle teachers regarding sexual education in schools; (2) identify and characterize activities developed within the scope of sexual education in school settings; (3) identify the type of specific training in this area of the teachers under study. For this, questionnaire surveys were applied to three teachers from the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education. After an analysis of the answers given by the participants, I can conclude that there are very positive attitudes on the part of teachers regarding the subject of Sexual Education. However, their approach in the school context is still very limited, in particular the scarcity of resources and time, and the teachers' own willingness to do so. Moreover, all teachers considered that they had sufficient training to approach this topic and the activities that they most implement in this sense are the debates.
