Active and Healthy Aging is characterized by the process of optimizing opportu nities for health, participation, and security, with the aim of improving the quality of life as people get older. The term active aging applies to individuals or population groups and allows people to realize their potential for physical, social, and mental well-being throughout the life course, and for these people to participate in society in accordance with your needs, desires and/or capabilities; at the same time, it provides adequate pro tection, security and care as needed. The main objective of active aging is above all to increase healthy life expectancy and quality of life for all people who are aging, including those who are frail, physically disabled and who require more care (ENEAS, 2017). Since Active and Healthy Aging implies a multidisciplinary action, social education thus brings fundamental contributions with regard, for example, to the creation of measures to pro mote well-being, participation, non-discrimination, inclusion, safety, quality of life and personal fulfillment of the elderly.
