- Educação inclusiva: prática de educação física para alunos com necessidades educativas especiais no ensino secundário do distrito de SetúbalPublication . Neto, Victoriana Vaz da Costa; Vitorino, AnabelaThe discipline of Physical Education is a gateway to social and principled education, because in the classes of this discipline, we often deal with limitations that are not only physical, but also psychological. Therefore, the importance of the teacher in awakening this perception in the student, so that he/she knows how to live with and respect the differences and diversities that are part of society. This dissertation aims to contribute to the participation of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the discipline of Physical Education in secondary education. The study of this theme is relevant in that it aims to know the school reality, at the level of inclusive education from the perspective of teachers and the reasons that in practice hinder the participation of students with SEN in school sports. In the first study, data collection was carried out through the application of the APIAD questionnaire (Attitude of Teachers towards the Inclusion of Students with Disabilities), to 99 teachers (61 female; 38 male) of secondary and vocational education in the district of Setúbal, aiming to identify their attitudes towards the inclusion of students with disabilities in regular public education. The results show that teachers overall have a positive attitude towards inclusion. Statistically significant differences are confirmed between the under 30 and over 50 age groups. In the second study, with the aim of identifying the perceived reasons for the absence of the practice of sports activities, in the context of school sports, by secondary school students with SEN, 80 students with SEN (47 female; 33 male) answered the IMAAD survey (Survey on Motivation for the Absence of Sports Activity). The results indicate that the factors that contribute to not practicing sports activity were "lack of support or condition" and "lack of interest in physical effort" as the justifying factors for not practicing sports activities. In order to support teachers in their pedagogical practice, a Good Practice Guide was prepared, containing intervention strategies and diversified exercises in the context of Physical Education in secondary school.
