A reabilitação respiratória na pessoa em situação crítica, submetida a ventilação mecânica
invasiva, é essencial para prevenir complicações, facilitar o desmame, recuperar a função
respiratória e promover autonomia. Este relatório, analisa o contributo do enfermeiro de
reabilitação, na implementação de programas de reeducação funcional respiratória na pessoa
submetida a ventilação mecânica invasiva, com recurso a uma revisão sistemática da
literatura. Explanamos uma análise reflexiva das competências comuns e específicas do
enfermeiro especialista de reabilitação adquiridas durante os ensinos cínicos, no qual se
procedeu à articulação com a evidência científica e a experiência desenvolvida enquanto
estudante. A realização do relatório, integra os referenciais teóricos de enfermagem de Afaf
Meleis e de Anne Casey como modelos orientadores da aquisição de competências. Entre as
competências desenvolvidas, destaca-se a promoção da adesão do utente ao processo
terapêutico, refletindo a importância da sua participação ativa no percurso de recuperação.
Esta adesão ao plano de reabilitação revelou-se determinante para a eficácia das
intervenções, potenciando os ganhos funcionais, a autonomia e a continuidade dos cuidados.
Respiratory rehabilitation in critically ill patients undergoing invasive mechanical ventilation is essential to prevent complications, facilitate weaning, restore respiratory function, and promote autonomy. This report analyzes the contribution of rehabilitation nurses in the implementation of functional respiratory reeducation programs in patients undergoing invasive mechanical ventilation, using a systematic review of the literature. We present a reflective analysis of the common and specific skills of the specialist rehabilitation nurse acquired during clinical teaching, in which we linked scientific evidence and the experience developed as a student. The report incorporates the theoretical nursing frameworks of Afaf Meleis and Anne Casey as guiding models for skills acquisition. Among the competencies developed, the promotion of patient adherence to the therapeutic process stands out, reflecting the importance of their active participation in the recovery process. This adherence to the rehabilitation plan proved to be decisive for the effectiveness of the interventions, enhancing functional gains, autonomy, and continuity of care
