Abstract(s)
vários autores, resultaram numa maior estabilidade do tronco e consequentemente
numa redução na dor.
Exercise has been shown to be effective in the prevention and management of acute and chronic health conditions and, therefore, physical activity is increasingly recommended for numerous pathologies, not only those associated with advancing age. This dissertation is the result of a 10-month investigation. With it, I sought to analyze the state of knowledge regarding physical exercise interventions in individuals with stenosis, identifying their benefits, namely in reducing pain and improving the patient's mobility; and analyzing which is the most efficient exercise methodology. Thus, two studies were carried out: Study 1 - Systematic review on what is done in the context of exercise in patients with stenosis of the spinal canal; Study 2 - Construction and Validation of an Exercise Program for patients with stenosis. For study 1, the consultation of articles and publications from international authors was used and the aim was to analyze whether there are interventions with physical exercise in these patients, what type of exercise intervention was carried out, and what results were obtained. For study 2, the CERT was used to report the exercise program and the CReDECI2 was used to validate the exercise program. There are few validated programs for this population, so there is an urgent need for their creation and validation in order to provide scientific support for the creation of more specific guidelines and methods for the evaluation and prescription of exercise for this population. It is concluded through the validation of the exercise program that it is an excellent way to provide the patient with an improvement in the conditions of his life, positively affecting the improvement of mobility and pain reduction. The strengthening of the core muscles, frequently mentioned in the systematic review by several authors, resulted in greater stability of the core and consequently a reduction in pain.
