Resumo(s)
educação STEM é um movimento que se baseia no ensino da matemática, ciências,
tecnologia e engenharia, recorrendo a uma abordagem interdisciplinar. A educação STEM
outdoor resulta da interseção entre a abordagem interdisciplinar da educação STEM e as
metodologias da aprendizagem ao ar livre.
O presente relatório foi desenvolvido no âmbito da Unidade Curricular de Investigação
na Prática de Ensino Supervisionada, integrada no Mestrado em Ensino do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino
Básico e de Matemática e Ciências Naturais no 2.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico, da Escola Superior
de Educação de Santarém. O documento encontra-se organizado em duas partes. A primeira
incide sobre a descrição e reflexão das Práticas de Ensino Supervisionadas desenvolvidas
em diferentes contextos educativos. A segunda parte integra um estudo no âmbito do Ensino
das Ciências e da Matemática no 2.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico sobre a abordagem STEM
outdoor para promoção da aprendizagem e do envolvimento dos alunos.
O estudo seguiu uma abordagem qualitativa, configurando-se como um estudo de caso,
desenvolvido com duas turmas do 6.º ano de escolaridade. A intervenção pedagógica baseouse
na implementação de atividades STEM, outdoor e STEM outdoor. A recolha de dados foi
realizada através da observação participante, grelhas de observação, registos fotográficos,
análise documental e entrevistas de grupo focado.
Os resultados evidenciam um aumento do envolvimento durante as atividades
propostas, bem como perceções positivas relativamente à aprendizagem em ambiente
outdoor e à integração curricular. Conclui-se que a abordagem STEM em contexto outdoor
constitui uma estratégia pedagógica relevante no 2.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico, contribuindo
para a promoção de aprendizagens mais integradas e significativas.
STEM education is a movement based on the teaching of mathematics, science, technology, and engineering, using an interdisciplinary approach. outdoor STEM Education results from the intersection between the interdisciplinary approach of STEM Education and outdoor learning methodologies. This report was developed within the scope of the Research in Supervised Teaching Practice course, part of the Master’s Degree in Teaching in the 1st Cycle of Basic Education and in Mathematics and Natural Sciences in the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education, at the School of Education of Santarém. The document is organized into two parts. The first focuses on the description and reflection of the Supervised Teaching Practices carried out in different educational contexts. The second part consist of a study entitled “An outdoor STEM education project to promote learning and student engagement in the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education” The study followed a qualitative approach, designed as a case study, conducted with two 6th-grade classes. The pedagogical intervention was based on the implementation of STEM, outdoor, and outdoor STEM activities. Data collection was carried out through participant observation, observation grids, photographic records, document analysis, and focus group interviews. The results show an increase in engagement during the proposed activities, as well as positive perceptions regarding outdoor learning and curricular integration. It is concluded that the STEM approach in an outdoor context constitutes a relevant pedagogical strategy in the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education, contributing to the promotion of more integrated and meaningful learning.
