| dc.description.abstract | A presente dissertação do Mestrado em Educação Social e Intervenção Comunitária, da Escola Superior de Educação – Instituto Politécnico de Santarém, tem como objeto de estudo um conjunto de casais heterossexuais que estão a vivenciar transições para a parentalidade. A partir da análise de algumas dimensões pessoais, familiares e sociais da vida dos casais, tem-se como objetivo explorar transições para a parentalidade na situação de primeiro, segundo e terceiro filho, relativamente às motivações, expectativas e sentimentos que os pais formulam. Procura-se compreender as alterações ocorridas na estrutura económica, profissional e conjugal, e caracterizar o impacto que um filho pode ter na relação pai-mãe-primogénito e pai-mãe-filhos. A operacionalização do estudo passou pela adoção de uma metodologia qualitativa, seis casais responderam a uma entrevista semiestruturada, num total de doze entrevistas, recolhidos do Projeto Fathering e de uma creche. Os casais foram entrevistados individualmente e as suas respostas foram submetidas à análise qualitativa de conteúdo. Os resultados permitem aferir: a concretização de um projeto de parentalidade resulta de uma combinação de motivações, maioritariamente, intrínsecas; as expectativas de ser pai e mãe são de ordem afetiva; as modificações ocorridas na dinâmica familiar são ajustadas e direcionadas ao novo ser, existindo um esforço adaptativo para manter a relação conjugal e a ligação afetiva com o primogénito; o primogénito manifesta comportamentos de exteriorização (dependência e independência) perante os cuidados e atenção prestados pelos pais ao irmão mais novo. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The present dissertation of the Master's Degree in Social Education and Community Intervention, from the Escola Superior de Educação – Instituto Politécnico de Santarém, has as its object of study a group of bisexual couples who are experiencing the transition to parenthood. Based on the analysis of some personal, family and social dimensions of couples' lives, the aim is to understand their motivations, feelings and expectations regarding the transition to parenthood. Specifically, in this study, we aim to identify the main motivations, feelings and expectations, understand the changes that have occurred in the economic, professional and marital structure, and characterize the impact that a child can have on the father-mother-first-born and father-mother-children relationship. The operationalization of the study involved the adoption of a qualitative methodology, six couples responded to a semi-structured interview, in a total of twelve interviews, collected from the Fathering Project and a nursery. The couples were interviewed individually and their responses were subjected to qualitative content analysis. The results allow us to assess: The implementation of a parenting project results from a combination of motivations, mostly intrinsic; the expectations of being a father and mother are of an affective nature; the changes that occur in the family dynamics are adjusted and directed to the new being, and there is an adaptive force to maintain the conjugal relationship and the affective bond with the firstborn; the firstborn manifests externalizing behaviors (dependence and independence) in the face of the care and attention given by the parents to the younger brother. | pt_PT |
