Abstract(s)
The main objective of this study was to characterize and compare the pedagogical feedback behaviour in group resistance training classes between fitness professionals with a bachelor’s degree in Sports, Physical Condition and Health (DSPCH) by Sports Science School of Rio Maior (SSSRM) and fitness professionals with Specialist Physical Exercise Technician (SPET) course not graduated in the sports and/or fitness area, relative to each category, by feedback dimension, as well as by the amount of feedback emission per minute (fpm). The sample of the study consisted of 20 fitness professionals, with experience up to two years, divided into two groups according to their formation: fitness professionals bachelor in Sports, Physical Condition and Health (n=10) and fitness professionals with a Specialist Physical Exercise Technician course (n=10). The video analysis was performed categorizing the feedbacks with the Feedback Observation System of Fitness Instructors in Group Fitness Classes (FOSFI GFC). The results obtained showed significant differences regarding the emission of feedbacks per minute, with the group of fitness professionals bachelor emitting significantly higher number of feedbacks per minute, and in the categories breathing, of the Content dimension, and feedback cycle, of the Practice Follow-up Consequent to Feedback dimension. The results indicate that the type of training does not influence significantly the type of feedback used, but rather the amount of feedbacks emitted
