O presente documento refere-se a um projeto de intervenção, desenhado no âmbito do Mestrado em Educação Social e Intervenção Comunitária e que tem como principal objetivo promover o bem-estar na demência junto de idosos institucionalizados.
A elaboração deste projeto resultou de um processo de diagnóstico para entender as necessidades e potencialidades do grupo-alvo (constituído por idosos 23 idosos com demência, 4 do sexo masculino e 19 do sexo feminino). Após essa análise, foram pensadas linhas de intervenção direta e indireta com vista à melhoria da qualidade de vida destes idosos, nomeadamente, a construção de materiais de apoio para os técnicos e funcionárias, no sentido de os ajudar a melhor intervir com este grupo-alvo.
Realizado todo o planeamento, conclui-se que o projeto é capaz de contribuir para obter bons resultados no trabalho dos técnicos e funcionárias nesta área, e consequentemente estimular as capacidades dos idosos com demência, para que tenham uma melhor qualidade de vida nas rotinas do seu dia-a-dia.
