Resumo(s)
The article presents a research which looks at the marginal intra-industry trade (MIIT) and its elements horizontally and marginal vertical intra-industry trade (MVIIT) in the U.S. An alternative methodology to evaluate MIIT is given. The research reveals a negative correlation between endowments and MIIT, which indicates the more frequent occurrence of MIIT among countries that are similar to demand. The rise of trade due to the decrease of transportation costs is confirmed.
