Rastreio de Alternaria spp. em sementes de brócolo

Abstract

A cultura do brócolo é das culturas hortícolas com maior expressão em Portugal sendo utilizada para a transformação industrial ou para consumo em fresco. No Ribatejo, tem-se observado a expansão do fungo Alternaria spp., o que poderá vir a comprometer a cultura em determinados locais. Pretendeu-se com este trabalho realizar o rastreio do fungo Alternaria brassicicola e Alternaria brassicaea em três lotes de sementes de brócolo. Foram feitas análises laboratoriais e observações da presença do fungo ao longo do desenvolvimento da semente. Determinou-se a quantidade de sementes infetadas por este fungo, obtendo resultados pouco significativos (duas sementes infetadas em 2400 sementes testadas).

The broccoli crop is one of the vegetable crops with the highest expression in Portugal, being used for industrial processing as well as for the fresh market. In Ribatejo, we have seen the spread of the fungus Alternaria spp., which may compromise crops in certain locations. In this work, the screening of Alternaria brassicicola or Alternaria brassicaea, on three different batches of broccoli seeds, was made. Laboratory tests and subsequent observations were made during the development of the seeds. The amount of infected seeds by this fungus was determined, obtaining results with a very low expression (two seeds infected in 2400 seeds tested).
