Prevenção da insalubridade habitacional relacionada com a síndrome de Diógenes

Abstract

RESUMO Problema: A insalubridade habitacional relacionada com a Síndrome de Diógenes é de complexa intervenção multidisciplinar. Possível início na infância, de evolução progressiva e silenciosa. Carateriza-se pelo descuido pessoal/habitacional, isolamento, negação do problema e acumulação de objetos inúteis, desencadeado por fatores do âmbito da saúde mental. Sendo alvo de atenção nos planos europeus e internacionais pela componente mental, social e de saúde pública verificou-se que num ano, a problemática correspondia a um terço dos casos, na unidade de estágio. Metodologia: Na revisão sistemática da literatura procurou-se identificar intervenções que promovessem comportamentos preventivos da Síndrome de Diógenes, na comunidade. Selecionou-se um estudo que envolvia a criação de uma “task-force”, e outro que aplicou a técnica cognitiva-comportamental. Resultados: Através do marketing social foram sensibilizados os visitantes e participantes da feira “Amostra social”, para sinalizar casos precocemente, e iniciou-se a formação de um grupo comunitário de intervenção preventiva, como avaliação prospetiva. Sugestões: Publicação de intervenções relacionadas com a problemática. ABSTRACT Problem: The unsanitary housing related to Diogenes syndrome is a complex multidisciplinary intervention. The possible onset in childhood, as a progressive and silent evolution, characterized by a personal / housing neglect, isolation, denial of problem and accumulation of useless objects, and is triggered by factors related to mental health. Being the target of attention in the European and international, mental, social and public health plans it was found, in the internship, that in a year, the issue corresponded to a third of the cases. Methodology: In the systematic literature review aimed at identifying interventions that promoted preventive behaviours of Diogenes syndrome in the community. Selected an study involved the creation of a task-force and another who the other applied the cognitive-behavioural technique. Results: Through social marketing, visitors and participants of the “Social Sample” fair were awakened to the importance of signalling cases early, and the training of a preventive intervention community group was initiated, as a prospective evaluation.
