Todavia, o conhecimento sobre a qualidade e eficácia do acesso das imigrantes aos cuidados de saúde, especialmente no que respeita às maternidades, é ainda escasso em Portugal. As mulheres guineenses representam uma grande percentagem de imigrantes em Portugal, pelo que, se torna uma necessidade e um desafio para um cuidado culturalmente sensível e respeitoso por parte dos Enfermeiros Especialistas em Enfermagem de Saúde Materna e Obstétrica. Este relatório pretende descrever o percurso académico referente à unidade curricular Estágio e Relatório em Saúde Materna e Obstétrica e ainda, compreender a perspetiva das mulheres imigrantes guineenses, acerca dos cuidados do enfermeiro especialista em enfermagem de saúde materna e obstétrica, no momento do parto, em Portugal e conhecer os aspetos, por estas, valorizados ou não no parto. Para a compreensão do fenómeno, após a realização da síntese de evidência, foi elaborado um estudo exploratório, descritivo e de abordagem qualitativa, recorrendo a uma entrevista semiestruturada. Os resultados obtidos, tanto no mapeamento da evidência científica, como na investigação realizada, são concordantes em relação à importância do papel do enfermeiro especialista em enfermagem de saúde materna e obstétrica e o potencial que este representa na perspetiva e na experiência positiva do parto nas mulheres imigrantes, nomeadamente das mulheres guineenses.Nowadays the growing number of women experiencing motherhood in a multicultural and migratory context is an undeniable reality. However, knowledge about the quality and effectiveness of immigrants' access to health care, especially regarding maternity hospitals, is still scarce in Portugal. Guinean women represent a large percentage of immigrants in Portugal, which makes it a necessity and a challenge for Maternal and Obstetric Health Nurse Specialists to provide culturally sensitive and respectful care. The aim of this report is to describe the academic journey of the Maternal and Obstetric Health Internship and Report curricular unit and also to understand the perspective of Guinean immigrant women on the care provided by nurses specializing in maternal and obstetric health nursing at the time of childbirth in Portugal and to find out which aspects they value or don't value during childbirth. To understand the phenomenon, after synthesizing the evidence, an exploratory, descriptive and qualitative study was carried out, using a semi-structured interview. The results obtained, both in the mapping of scientific evidence and in the research carried out, agree on the importance of the role of the nurse specializing in maternal health and obstetric nursing and the potential it represents in the perception and positive experience of childbirth for immigrant women, particularly Guinean women.portext
