Encarado no século XX como um profeta da modernidade, Verne foi também um divulgador das descobertas e dos problemas científicos do seu tempo. - This article intends to be a reflection about the importance of science, specially mathematics and physics, in the writing of Jules Verne, but also about the role played by his work in the propagation of scientific knowledge. Jules Verne lived in an epoch of great scientific development with high influence in the day-to-day life of common people.
